ITINERARY

Jambo! Land in Zanzibar and step straight into the fusion of African, Arab, and European influences that make this island unlike anywhere else. You'll be met at the airport and transferred directly to your beachfront hotel in Paje, one of the island's most celebrated coastlines.

Spend the afternoon at your own pace — relax on the beach, swim in the shallows, or wander into the village to browse the spice stalls and colorful market stands nearby. As the sun sets, gather for a welcome dinner on the beach. Tomorrow: dolphins and Zanzibar's famous winds.

Rise early for a boat ride south to Kizimkazi, where wild dolphins swim free in the open water — snorkel alongside them in one of Zanzibar's most memorable mornings.
Back in Paje by afternoon, it's time to see why this stretch of coast is a kitesurfing capital. Take a lesson with local instructors on Paje's steady trade winds, whether you're catching your first gust or refining your technique. Dinner is yours to explore in the village tonight.

After breakfast, we'll head to Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, Zanzibar's only national park and home to the endangered Zanzibar red colobus monkey, a species found nowhere else on Earth. During a guided walk through the lush tropical forest and mangrove boardwalk, you'll learn about the island's unique ecosystem while spotting playful monkeys, exotic birds, and native flora. The forest visit typically lasts 2–3 hours.

In the afternoon, we'll continue our scenic drive to the island's northern coast and check into our beachfront hotel in Kendwa, famous for its powder-white sand, calm turquoise waters, and spectacular sunsets. The rest of the day is yours to relax by the beach, take a swim in the Indian Ocean, or enjoy dinner with your toes in the sand as the sun sets over Zanzibar.

Wake up to paradise before heading out on a boat trip to the crystal-clear waters surrounding Mnemba Atoll, one of Zanzibar's most spectacular marine reserves. Spend the morning snorkeling over vibrant coral reefs, where you'll have the chance to spot colorful tropical fish, sea turtles, and—if you're lucky—wild dolphins. The calm, turquoise waters make this one of the island's best snorkeling experiences.

After returning to the hotel, enjoy some free time to relax on the beach, swim in the warm Indian Ocean, or unwind by the pool before the evening adventure.

As the sun begins to set, step aboard a traditional Swahili dhow for a magical sunset cruise along Zanzibar's northern coastline. Sail across the calm waters as the sky transforms into shades of orange, pink, and gold, creating the perfect ending to another unforgettable day in paradise.

After breakfast, we’ll leave the beaches behind and discover the flavors that earned Zanzibar the nickname “Spice Island.” Visit a local spice farm where you’ll learn how Zanzibar’s famous cloves, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and other tropical spices are grown and harvested. You’ll have the chance to taste fresh exotic fruits, explore the gardens, and experience a unique part of the island’s culture and history.

After the spice tour, we’ll continue to Stone Town, Zanzibar’s historic heart and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander through its maze of narrow streets, admire the carved wooden doors, explore bustling markets, and discover the fascinating blend of African, Arab, Indian, and European influences that shaped the island.

The evening is yours to enjoy the atmosphere of Stone Town—watch the sunset along the waterfront, explore local shops, or try Zanzibar’s famous street food at Forodhani Gardens.

After breakfast, we’ll dive deeper into Zanzibar’s fascinating history with a guided walking tour through Stone Town, a city shaped by centuries of trade and cultural exchange. Explore the winding alleyways, visit historic landmarks, admire the iconic carved wooden doors, and learn about the island’s Swahili, Arab, Indian, and European influences.

Later, we’ll take a short boat ride to Prison Island, a beautiful tropical escape just off the coast of Stone Town. Once intended as a quarantine station and later a prison, the island is now famous for its giant Aldabra tortoises, some over 100 years old. You’ll have time to meet these gentle giants, explore the island, and relax on its stunning beaches or snorkel in the surrounding turquoise waters.

Return to Stone Town in the afternoon and enjoy your final evening soaking in the magic of Zanzibar—whether that means exploring local cafés, shopping for souvenirs, or enjoying one last sunset by the Indian Ocean.

After an unforgettable week exploring the beaches, wildlife, and culture of Zanzibar, enjoy your final breakfast on the island.

For those continuing with the Serengeti Safari extension, the adventure continues. After breakfast, we’ll transfer to the airport for your flight to Tanzania’s mainland, where you’ll begin your safari journey into the legendary Serengeti National Park. Prepare for vast golden plains, incredible wildlife encounters, and the chance to witness one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders—the Great Migration.
