The trip starts and finishes in Zanzibar
For travelers joining us after the safari, we fly together from Arusha to Zanzibar. The flight is not included in the trip price, but we can book it for you to ensure you travel with the group.
If you’re flying into Zanzibar from another location, you’ll need to arrange your own flights to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ).
Our tours are designed for adventurous travelers aged 18 to 45, with most guests typically between 21 and 35 years old. However, anyone with a sense of adventure is welcome, as long as they are 18 or older!
Each trip typically has between 2 to 14 travelers, allowing for a more personalized and immersive experience.
We stay in carefully selected, well-rated 3-star hotels in standard double and triple occupancy rooms, shared with fellow trip members of the same gender. Rooms typically feature twin/single beds. If you’re traveling with a friend or family member and would like to share a room, just let us know—we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
In some cases, rooms may have beds of different sizes; if so, we ask guests to take turns with the larger bed so everyone has a fair share.
For those who prefer extra privacy, private room upgrades are available for an additional fee.
We do not handle visa arrangements. However, we’re happy to help you gather information about visa requirements based on your nationality for your chosen destination, ensuring you have a clear understanding of what’s needed.
The currency in Tanzania is the Tanzanian Shilling, abbreviated as (TZS).
Yes, your money is safe! If the trip is canceled by us, including due to not meeting the minimum participant requirement by the deadline (typically two months before the trip), you'll receive a full refund.
We understand plans can change. A $300 deposit secures your spot, and you can cancel within 72 hours for a full refund. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the trip. All visitors to Zanzibar must purchase the mandatory Zanzibar travel insurance issued by the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation, even if you already have international coverage. The cost is currently $44 USD per adult (please check the official website for the most up-to-date price). This policy is valid for up to 92 days and includes coverage for medical emergencies, evacuation, baggage issues, and other incidents. You can purchase it online in advance at visitzanzibar.go.tz or upon arrival, though we recommend arranging it beforehand to avoid delays at the airport.
In addition to this mandatory policy, we strongly advise all travelers to purchase comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, personal injury, medical and repatriation expenses, evacuation, personal liability, and loss of personal belongings. We can recommend insurance providers based on your country of residence to ensure you are fully protected. Make sure your plan also covers any activities you’ll be joining—especially adventure or high-risk ones—for those planning extra adrenaline-filled experiences!
For the safaris, wear neutral-colored, lightweight, and breathable clothing to stay cool and blend in with the environment. Long sleeves and pants are recommended for sun protection and to reduce insect bites. Bring comfortable shoes or boots for game drives.
For Zanzibar, pack light, breathable clothes, swimwear for the beach, and modest attire for visiting local towns.
