ITINERARY
Touch down in Entebbe and transfer to your hotel. After settling in, the day is yours to relax, enjoy a drink at the bar, or start connecting with your fellow travelers. In the evening, we’ll gather for a casual welcome and briefing — the perfect chance to meet the group, swap travel stories, and toast to the start of an unforgettable adventure.
Optional: After the briefing, enjoy an evening of music, dance, and local cuisine at Ndere Cultural Centre, including a buffet dinner (6pm–10pm, $50).
Start the day with a unique Kampala experience: a boda boda city tour. Zip through the streets on motorcycle taxis like a local, climb the steps of Gaddafi Mosque for a 360-degree city view, explore downtown, visit Owino Market, and experience the energy of the bustling taxi park — a true glimpse of everyday Ugandan life.
Stop for a street food snack at lunchtime and try the famous Ugandan Rolex. In the afternoon, drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (~3 hrs) for a guided rhino walk on foot with a ranger team. Get up close to these gentle giants and learn about the efforts to reintroduce rhinos into the wild.
After the visit, transfer to Masindi (~35 min) and check in to your hotel. The evening is yours to relax and explore yourself.
Start the day with a short drive from Masindi (~45 min) to a forested area near Budongo for an early morning chimp tracking adventure. Trek through the forest with your guide in search of wild chimpanzees. These are wild animals, so sightings aren’t guaranteed, but the thrill of being in nature and hearing the forest come alive makes it an unforgettable experience.
After the chimp trek, drive to Murchison Falls (~2.5 hrs), one of Uganda’s most iconic parks. Here, the Nile surges through a narrow gorge before tumbling into the dramatic falls — a spectacular sight surrounded by abundant wildlife. The park is home to large herds of elephants and buffalo, towering giraffes, and a variety of antelope, making every moment in the savannah unforgettable.
Enjoy lunch and settle in to your lodge by the river, where hippos wander out of the water after dark… Later in the afternoon, head out on a sunset game drive when the park’s wildlife becomes most active. Watch elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and antelope roam the golden savannah as the sun casts its glow across the landscape.
Wake up early with a packed breakfast for a sunrise game drive, as the savannah glows in golden light and wildlife stirs all around you. Spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and antelope, and keep an eye out for lions or leopards starting their day.
Afterwards, embark on a Nile boat cruise (~2 hrs) to the base of Murchison Falls. Glide past hippos and crocodiles along the riverbanks, watch elephants wading in the water, and marvel at the Nile thundering into the gorge — an unforgettable sight.
The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax at the lodge, soak in panoramic park views, take a leisurely nature walk, and gather around the fire pit as the day winds down.
After breakfast, set off on a scenic drive to Kibale Forest (~7 hrs), winding through rolling hills, charming villages, and lush tea plantations. Pause for photos and short breaks along the way to soak in the landscapes and local life.
Check in at your lodge mid-afternoon and take some time to relax.
Optional: In the late afternoon, join an included Bigodi Cultural and Wetland Walk (~2 hrs). Visit local homes, taste traditional banana beer and gin, watch skilled basket weavers at work, and explore the wetlands in search of birds and playful monkeys — a perfect introduction to the region’s culture and wildlife.
The evening is yours to unwind and enjoy the lodge’s peaceful surroundings.
After breakfast, depart Kibale for Queen Elizabeth National Park (~3.5–4 hrs), enjoying scenic stops along the way through rolling hills, villages, and lush landscapes.
In the afternoon, embark on a Kazinga Channel boat cruise (~2 hrs), gliding past hippos surfacing in the water, crocodiles lounging along the banks, elephants wading at the river’s edge, and flocks of vibrant birds filling the sky. Marvel at the wildlife and the stunning river scenery — a truly unforgettable experience.
After the cruise, continue the scenic drive (~2 hrs) to the Ishasha sector, home to the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. Check in to your lodge and relax enjoying the panoramic savannah views, gather around the fire pit, or take a leisurely stroll along nearby nature trails.
Rise early for a morning game drive in Ishasha, searching for the park’s famous tree-climbing lions while the savannah awakens with elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and antelope.
After the game drive, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (~3 hrs). As you drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, the journey feels like a safari in itself — spot wildlife along the way and take in the rolling savannah, rivers, and forests of this iconic park.
Stop for lunch at a local community project, where conservation and tourism come together. Enjoy a delicious meal while learning how the project supports wildlife, crafts, and women’s initiatives in the area.
Continue the scenic drive to Bwindi and check in at your accommodation for the evening. Your stay supports local communities and conservation efforts, and you’ll be warmly welcomed. Take time to relax, soak in the lush forest surroundings, and get ready for an optional gorilla trekking adventure tomorrow — a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Today is for an optional gorilla trekking adventure ($800), a once-in-a-lifetime experience. For those opting for gorilla trekking, the day begins early with a visit to the forest headquarters for a briefing. Meet your ranger and receive your assigned gorilla family before setting off into the lush, misty forest. Trek for 2–6 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements, immersing yourself in the sights, sounds, and energy of this incredible ecosystem along the way.
Once you locate your gorilla family, spend an unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants up close, appreciating their intelligence, curiosity, and striking resemblance to us. Face masks are required during this time to protect both you and the gorillas.
For those who prefer to skip the trek, there are plenty of optional experiences available:
- Take a nature walk through Bwindi’s forest ($100)
- Explore local villages on a bicycle ride ($50)
- Learn traditional crafts like basket weaving ($45)
- Visit a pangolin rescue center ($25)
- Experience Batwa culture and history ($30)
Return to your lodge in the evening to celebrate a day immersed in the forest, sharing stories of your adventure and relaxing in this magical environment.
Today, depart Bwindi and journey to Lake Mburo National Park (~6.5 hrs), passing through scenic landscapes, rolling hills, and local villages along the way. Stop for a local lunch buffet and enjoy a taste of the region’s flavors.
Arrive at your lodge for your final night in Uganda and settle in. The evening is yours to relax, soak in the peaceful surroundings, or watch the sunset over the shimmering lake, reflecting on the incredible adventures of your trip.
Rise early for one final adventure — a walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park. Accompanied by an experienced ranger, you’ll get up close to giraffes, zebras, impalas, and other wildlife. With few predators in the park, the animals are relaxed, giving you an unforgettable opportunity to experience Uganda’s wildlife on foot.
After the safari, begin your scenic transfer back to Entebbe (~5 hrs), stopping at the Equator in Kayabwe for photos, the fun water-spinning demonstration, and a chance to pick up some last souvenirs. Continue to Entebbe Airport or your accommodation if staying an extra night.
Please plan flights no earlier than 8:30 PM, as we aim to arrive in Entebbe by 6 PM.
