ITINERARY

Welcome to Tanzania! Your adventure begins as you arrive in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania's incredible national parks. After a warm welcome, we'll set off for Tarangire National Park, known for its iconic baobab trees and large elephant herds.

Spend the afternoon on a thrilling game drive, spotting wildlife against the park's stunning landscapes. Known for its massive elephant herds and diverse wildlife, Tarangire’s lush landscape promises endless opportunities for wildlife sightings. Keep your eyes peeled for zebras, giraffes, lions, leopards, and even tree-climbing pythons!

As the sun sets, we'll settle into our lodge near Tarangire, where you'll enjoy a delicious dinner and unwind beneath the African sky.

Get ready — this is just the beginning of an unforgettable journey!

Begin your day with a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Descend into the crater early for a morning game drive, when wildlife is most active, and keep an eye out for lions, elephants, rhinos, zebras, and wildebeest amid its stunning landscapes.

After your crater adventure, we’ll travel to Serengeti National Park, home to vast plains and diverse wildlife. This is an excellent time for spotting predators on the move, so stay alert for lions, leopards, and even cheetahs in action as you explore the park.

Arrive at your luxury camp just in time for sunset, enjoy dinner, and relax by the fire. Get ready for another epic day of game drives ahead!

Rise early for a full day exploring the central Serengeti, the heart of Tanzania’s iconic wildlife region. Spend the day on game drives, where you may encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest across endless golden plains and acacia-dotted landscapes.

Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature, then continue your afternoon game drives to maximize wildlife sightings.

As the day winds down, return to your luxury camp in the central Serengeti. Relax and enjoy a delicious dinner, preparing for the next day’s adventure.

Wake up early for a full day exploring the northern Serengeti, including the Mara River area, where wildlife activity is at its peak in July. This is prime season for the Great Migration, and you may witness herds of wildebeest and zebras gathering on the plains, preparing to cross the river, often closely watched by lions, leopards, and cheetahs ready for their opportunity.

Enjoy lunch amidst the amazing Serengeti landscapes, keeping your camera ready for unforgettable wildlife encounters.

After an unforgettable day, arrive at your camp to relax and enjoy a delicious dinner, reflecting on the amazing wildlife encounters and gearing up for another exciting safari adventure.

Rise early for your final game drive in the Serengeti, taking in any wildlife you may have missed and capturing last unforgettable moments on the plains.

Later, visit a local Maasai community, where you can learn about their culture, traditions, and daily life. There will also be an opportunity to shop for authentic Maasai handicrafts, supporting the community in a meaningful way.

After your cultural visit, travel back to Arusha, where you’ll spend the evening relaxing at your hotel and reflecting on your incredible safari experience.

After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye — or as they say in Swahili, “Kwaheri!” Depending on your onward plans, you can spend the morning relaxing in Arusha, exploring local markets, or enjoying a coffee at one of the charming cafes.

For those continuing the adventure in Zanzibar, we’ll assist with your transfer to the airport for your flight to this tropical paradise.

Whether you’re heading home or off to the coast, you’ll leave Tanzania with incredible memories, new friendships, and stories to last a lifetime.

The trip begins and ends in Arusha. For easier connections, we recommend flying into Dar es Salaam and then booking a separate domestic flight to Arusha. Whether you're continuing on to Zanzibar or heading home, we’ll arrange your airport transfer.

Yes! You can secure your spot with a $400 deposit and choose to pay the remaining balance through our monthly installment plan. The full balance must be paid at least 60 days before the trip.

If you’d like to set up a monthly payment plan after paying your deposit, please email us at helpdesk@gagagoapp.com and we’ll guide you through the process.

On our Premium Safari, we stay in handpicked, highly rated lodges, luxury tented camps, and boutique hotels, chosen for their comfort, service, and locations. Rooms are shared with fellow trip members of the same gender, typically 2 or 3 people per room, with twin or single beds.

Some rooms may have beds of different sizes; in this case, guests are expected to take turns using the larger bed so everyone has a fair chance each night. If you’re traveling with a friend or family member and want to share a room, just let us know—we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Private room upgrades are available for an additional fee if you prefer your own space.

Tipping is customary on safari but entirely at your discretion. Guides, drivers, lodge staff, and camp teams work hard to make your experience exceptional, and small gestures are always appreciated. As a guideline:

Safari guide/driver: $10–$20 per person, per day

Lodge or camp staff: $4–$10 per person, per day (split among the team)

It’s best to carry small bills in U.S. dollars or Tanzanian shillings. Tipping in cash directly to the individuals or tip box is preferred.

Yes, your money is safe! If the trip is canceled by us, including due to not meeting the minimum participant requirement by the deadline (typically two months before the trip), you'll receive a full refund.

We understand plans can change. A $400 deposit secures your spot, and you can cancel within 72 hours for a full refund. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the trip. Cancellations made less than 60 days before the trip are non-refundable. For full details, please read our cancellation policy here.

Our safari groups range from 5 to 14 travelers, ensuring a personalized and immersive experience. Each 4WD jeep seats up to 7 people, and everyone gets a window seat for optimal wildlife viewing and photography.

Our tours are designed for adventurous travelers aged 18 to 45, with most guests typically between 21 and 35 years old. However, anyone with a sense of adventure is welcome, as long as they are 18 or older!

We do not handle visa arrangements. However, we’re happy to help you gather information about visa requirements based on your nationality for your chosen destination, ensuring you have a clear understanding of what’s needed.

The currency in Tanzania is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS). While local transactions are typically done in shillings, USD is widely accepted, especially for tipping. We recommend bringing some USD for this purpose.

Yes, we strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation, personal injury, medical and repatriation expenses, evacuation, personal liability, and loss of personal property before traveling with us. We can also recommend travel insurance options based on your country of residence to ensure you're fully covered. Make sure your policy also covers any activities you'll be participating in, especially adventure or high-risk activities, for all the adrenaline junkies out there!

For the safaris, wear neutral-colored, lightweight, and breathable clothing to stay cool and blend in with the environment. Long sleeves and pants are recommended for sun protection and to reduce insect bites. Bring comfortable shoes or boots for game drives.

For Zanzibar, pack light, breathable clothes, swimwear for the beach, and modest attire for visiting local towns.

Other essentials for both locations:

  • Hat and sunglasses

  • Sunscreen

  • Bug spray/insect repellent

  • Warm layer for cooler mornings and evenings

In Tanzania, it’s common to encounter people living in poverty. While it’s natural to want to help, giving money or food directly to children or individuals you meet on the street or in national parks can create safety issues, encourage dependence, and may violate park rules.

During your trip, we visit a local Maasai community, where you’ll have the opportunity to shop for authentic handicrafts, a meaningful way to support the community. If you’d like to make donations, consider school supplies, clothing, or non-perishable items that can be distributed responsibly. Always check with your guide first to ensure your contribution is appropriate.

Tips for responsible giving:

  • Do not give money or food to children inside or near national parks.

  • Follow park rules: some areas strictly prohibit tipping or donations.

  • Supporting ethical local initiatives or community projects ensures your help has a real impact.

This approach allows you to engage positively with local communities while respecting their culture and Tanzania’s wildlife and park regulations.

We believe a great safari is about more than breathtaking wildlife—it’s also about the people you share it with. We kindly ask all guests to be respectful toward our guides, trip leaders, lodge staff, local communities, and fellow travelers. This includes being mindful of cultural norms, keeping group harmony in mind, and treating everyone with courtesy. A positive, supportive group dynamic helps make the experience unforgettable for everyone.

Gagago trips are intentionally kept small to foster meaningful connections and a positive group dynamic. To ensure the best experience for everyone, our hosts consider several factors—including group balance, shared interests, and travel styles—when reviewing participants.

If we feel that someone may not be the best fit for a particular trip, we may suggest alternative options or respectfully decline the booking to preserve the experience for all.

Our goal is always to create a welcoming and memorable adventure for everyone involved.

Absolutely—and we highly recommend it! Over 90% of our travelers come solo. Our trips are designed to help you connect, make new friends from around the world, and share unforgettable experiences. Whether you come alone, with a friend, partner, or family, you’ll feel right at home from day one.
