Thank you for using Gagago. We are a social platform for people that wish to expand their social circles based on specific interests. To be able to provide you with a meaningful platform, there is information that is required to be collected from you. Detailed in this policy we provide transparency about the data we collect, how we use it and with whom it is shared.

This Privacy Policy applies when you use Gagago services and we suggest that you read it in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions. We can modify this Privacy Policy from time to time, and if we make material changes to it, we will notify you. If you do not agree with the changes, you may close your account.

1. Collection of Information

We collect information about you when you:

1.1 Create an account: name, email address and/or phone number, password, date of birth, gender, sexual orientation and ethnicity. In addition, you select your interests and travel preferences, add photos and write a bio description to your profile. 

The legal bases for collection and processing of your information is contractual necessity to enable us to provide our services to you and your consent to increase your chances of making connections.

Please do not include any personal data to your profile that you would not want to be publicly available. Although collected, your sexual orientation, gender and ethnicity will only be public if you check the “Visible on profile” box.

1.2 Use the application: we may collect log information about time, duration, and frequency of your access, profiles visited, messages you exchange with other members, ads that you interacted with, your IP address and device information. The legal bases for collection and processing of this information is our legitimate interests to improve, promote and safeguard our application.

Based on your consent, we may collect photos and videos from your camera roll and access your location according to the location of your device.

1.3 We will collect information when you communicate with us: to best assist you and other members, we allow you to submit comments, questions, requests and reports involving other members. It’s our legitimate interests to respond to your queries.

1.4 We will collect related information if you choose to participate in promotions, events or surveys. It’s our legitimate interests to promote and improve our application.

2. Use of your Information

We use information about you to operate, improve, personalize, provide support, promote and protect Gagago and our application as described below:

2.1 Physical location and preferences are used to personalize the app and make it easier for you to connect with like-minded members who are near you or have similar travel interests. 

2.2 To deliver to you relevant ads based on your interests and travel preferences, we personalize the platform to suggest connections and advertisements in which we think you may be interested. We may contact you via email, Gagago inbox, and push notifications with information about our platform including offers and promotions available from us and our partners. 

2.3 Monitor and analyze trends in connection with our platform. We keep track of how you interact with ads available on Gagago including third parties services by redirecting clicks and sharing statistics to help us support the promotion and marketing of the application.

2.4 Operate, maintain and improve our platform, including to develop new features and services, manage your account, provide services to you and complete your transactions.

2.5 Detect, prevent and investigate illegal or unauthorized activities and to comply with applicable law and government requests.

3. Sharing of Information

The main share of information is with other members. We also share some information with service providers, third parties interested in marketing their products and services on the application, prospective partners and members, and with law enforcement as described below:

3.1 Your profile is fully visible to members and the information you display is publicly available on and off our application. We share your information to third-parties who help us to operate or improve our services, payment processing, data hosting, marketing, advertising and customer care.

3.2 You may share other member’s profiles and they may share yours with people outside of the application, hence your information is accessible to others both on and off the platform.

3.3 We may disclose your information to authorities to comply with legal obligations or requests and to enforce legal rights if disclosure would mitigate our liability in a lawsuit. 

3.4 To an affiliate or successor entity in eventual merger or any other corporate transaction, whether in whole or in part.

4. Transfer of Information

Gagago is based in the United States and operate globally. This means that your information will be transferred to, and processed in, the United States and countries other than the country in which you are resident. Information about you will remain protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We require companies we contract with to protect the privacy and security of your data when we transfer personal information to them.

You are responsible for keeping your password secure, complex and confidential. We suggest you change your password periodically. 

5. Data Retention

We may delete your account if you have not logged in for 12 months or more. If you close your account, your profile will stop being viewable by others and we generally delete closed account information within 30 days of account closure, except as noted in this Policy.

We retain your personal information as long as we need it for legitimate purposes and as permitted by applicable law. We may keep your information on the bases of legitimate interest, for example, to prevent banned members from creating new accounts, in case of potential claims or disputes or to support customer care decisions.

We may retain limited data to comply with legal data retention obligations, for example, for tax and accounting requirements. 

6. Your Consent

Certain information such as your location and your photos camera roll are collected based on your consent. Your gender, sexual orientation and ethnicity are collected on a contractual base but will only be public if you check the “Visible on profile” box.

You can withdraw your consent at any time. However, withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing that we conducted prior to your withdrawal.

Information you have shared with others through messages may remain visible after you close your account, and we do not control data that other members have copied out of our services.

7. Children’s Privacy

Gagago is restricted to users who are 18 years of age or older. If you identify a user who is suspected to be under the age of 18, please use the reporting profile function available through the platform.

8. California Data Privacy

Pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), California residents have the right to delete or change their personal information and request transparency about our privacy practices such as how we have collected, used and shared their personal information. They can also request a notice disclosing the categories of their personal information that we have shared with third parties for their direct marketing initiatives over the past 12 months.

If you are a California resident and participate in a promotion with a third party, we may disclose your contact information to the third party to allow them to market their products or services to you. We do not consider the ways we share your information as a “sale” for purposes of California law.

We do not discriminate members for exercising CCPA Rights.

9. EU and UK Privacy rights

Your basic profile details are a contractual necessity to enable us to provide our services to you. Where the legal bases for use of your data is legitimate interests, you can object to our use of your data. If the legal bases is your consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time. We have detailed the legal bases for collection and processing of your data on items 1 and 2 above in this Privacy Policy.
