The town exudes a serene and zen atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for yoga and meditation classes or healing retreats. It’s also an excellent base for exploring Bali’s natural wonders, like Mount Batur and stunning waterfalls.

Lovina – 1 Night
Lovina, located in the north of Bali, has been gaining popularity in recent years, and for good reason. This emerging destination offers a more local and laid-back vibe compared to bustling Canggu and Seminyak. One of the main draws is the chance to embark on a sunrise boat tour to see dolphins in the wild, with opportunities to swim alongside them. Lovina also offers great snorkeling, delicious local cuisine, and access to stunning waterfalls.
Things to do in Lovina
- Dolphin tour at sunrise – Head out early to spot dolphins in their natural habitat.
- Snorkeling – Explore the underwater world just off the coast.
- Visit Aling-Aling Waterfall – Discover this hidden gem and its natural water slides.

Nusa Penida is the largest of three islands off the coast of Bali, alongside Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. It has skyrocketed in popularity recently, thanks to its breathtaking landscapes and pristine beaches, which have become social media favorites. With its dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and incredible viewpoints, Nusa Penida offers an unforgettable experience. You can even snorkel with majestic manta rays here. If you’re short on time, a day trip is a great option, though staying overnight lets you explore more at a relaxed pace.

Gili Islands – 2-3 Nights
No trip to Indonesia is complete without visiting at least one of the Gili Islands! Like the Nusa Islands, there are three Gilis to choose from: Gili Air, Gili Meno, and Gili Trawangan (Gili T). Gili Air and Gili Meno are smaller, more peaceful islands where you can unwind and spend a few days in total relaxation. Gili T, on the other hand, is the liveliest, popular with backpackers for its vibrant nightlife. During the day, you can snorkel with turtles, cycle around the island, and enjoy stunning sunsets.
Things to do in Gili T
- Rent bicycles – Explore the island at your own pace, as no motor vehicles are allowed.
- Stand-up paddleboarding – Try this fun water activity on Gili’s calm waters.
- Swim with turtles – Snorkel or dive and get up close to sea turtles in their natural habitat.
