ITINERARY
Welcome to Zanzibar! Upon arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to Paje Beach, where you'll be welcomed by warm ocean breezes and breathtaking views of turquoise waters. After settling into your accommodations, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the pristine sands of Paje Beach, taking in the stunning surroundings and the serene atmosphere. As the day winds down, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner featuring delicious local cuisine, setting the stage for an unforgettable week exploring the magic of Zanzibar.
Start the day with a delicious breakfast. Afterward, we’ll head to the kitesurfing center for an introductory kitesurfing lesson with a professional instructor. You’ll learn about the equipment, safety procedures, and kite control. After mastering a small training kite, you’ll progress to the larger kites used for kitesurfing. After a midday break for lunch at a beachside restaurant, you’ll return for more kitesurfing practice in the afternoon, improving your confidence and technique. In the evening, we’ll savor dinner and explore Paje’s vibrant main road.
Today, you’ll take your skills into the water to practice body dragging, learning to use the kite’s power to move through the water without the board. Once comfortable, you’ll be introduced to handling the board, practicing water starts and board control in shallow water. In the afternoon, we’ll explore Zanzibar’s famous sights, including a visit to Jozani Forest to interact with the friendly Red Colobus Monkeys and discover the mangrove forests. Evening at leisure to explore.
It’s time to get up on the board and ride! You’ll work on positioning the kite, generating power, and transitioning from body dragging to riding smoothly. The instructor will guide you on speed control, direction changes, and maintaining balance. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Kuza Cave in Jambiani, enjoy local live music, and immerse ourselves in its natural beauty. Evening at leisure to explore.
As your skills improve, you’ll start achieving controlled rides, focusing on staying upwind and maintaining balance. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the famous Rock Restaurant to savor a delicious meal with one of the most iconic views in Zanzibar. After lunch, we’ll head to Michamvi Beach to swim in the Blue Lagoon atoll, explore the Coral Garden, and enjoy an unforgettable encounter with starfish in their natural habitat. Evening at leisure.
With your progress, you’ll be allowed to kitesurf independently under instructor supervision, building experience and confidence. Those interested in advanced techniques can start exploring jumps, tricks, and riding in various conditions. After your final kitesurfing session, we’ll transfer to Stone Town, where we’ll enjoy a traditional Swahili dinner and overnight in this historic area.
We’ll start with a walking tour of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, exploring the Sultan’s Palace, Arab mansions, and the town’s winding streets. Afterward, we’ll visit a local spice farm, learning about Zanzibar’s spice production, and then take a boat ride to Prison Island, home to giant land tortoises imported from Seychelles. You’ll have the chance to feed and interact with these fascinating creatures. We’ll return to Stone Town for a farewell dinner. Overnight in Stone Town.
After breakfast, we’ll check out from our hotel in Stone Town and take in any last glimpses of this historic town. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some final time to explore the markets for souvenirs or take a relaxing stroll through the winding streets of Stone Town. We will then transfer you to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport for your departure.
Over the past 8 days, you’ve immersed yourself in the beauty of Zanzibar, from kitesurfing over turquoise waters to exploring spice farms, interacting with wildlife, and uncovering the cultural richness of Stone Town. These memories will stay with you long after you leave. Until the next adventure!
